The order picking process in warehouses generally requires the most labour and determines the percentage of orders that arrive at the customer complete and error-free. There are many order picking solutions available today. Think of traditional shelving systems where advanced picking trolleys are used, or where AMRs transport picking carts behind the picker, as well as sorting systems where goods are picked in batches and then sorted by customer order.
Sorting can be done manually with Put-to-Light systems, with sorting installations, or with sorting AMRs. Additionally, consider GtP systems like Autostore, Brightpick, Hai Robotics, and shuttle systems, and so on.
Each solution has its own advantages and disadvantages, and not every solution is suitable for every situation. During this tour, we will visit several providers of order picking systems, showcasing a wide range of solutions.
